Dear South Cleveland Heart Fund Team,
I hope this email finds you well.
I’m writing to let you know that some of my family and I will be running the Altra Kielder Half Marathon on October 4th to raise money for the South Cleveland Heart Fund, in gratitude for the incredible care my Dad received at James Cook Hospital following his heart attack a few months ago.
He was immediately transferred to James Cook hospital after it was found he was having a heart attack at UHND. He underwent the emergency procedure at James Cook which stopped any long term damage to his heart and was well looked after in the ward for a few days afterwards. Thanks to the whole South Cleveland Heart Fund team he has made a speedy recovery and is even back running himself these days!
Speaking of, he has recovered brilliantly and has even made his way back to some running. Although he was actually supposed to be running this event with us, he’s decided that watching us plod around for 13.1 miles is the slightly more sensible option this time (any excuse eh?)
We’re hoping to raise as much as possible to give something back to the people who kept him up and running. Honestly, after seeing it first hand, there is no amount of money that reflects what these guys do every single day – but let’s give it a go!
